The band members’ personal experiences over the past year have also impacted the new direction, altering their perspectives on their compositions. The band acknowledges that when it came to their sound, they first wanted to be branded as “teenage girls” by listeners, but they have since chosen to base their songs on what they are feeling at the moment.
“Bubbles” starts with an omnichord, complementing the piano melodies with memorable bass lines. The song’s tension is increased by guitarist John Huang’s guitar melodies and producer Kuo-Yen Huang’s pleasant arrangement, which complement Lynn’s more laid-back than typical vocals in this single.
The confusion and fragility of life served as the inspiration for the song. Everything around us is as brittle as bubbles that could pop at any point at the end of a life cycle. The song also draws attention to the numerous unsolved questions in life. People’s complex emotions are frequently hard to articulate, and life’s burden is also challenging to quantify.
