Blawan Unveils His Unwaited EP “BouQ”

Bingkai Karya– Blawan’s highly anticipated new EP, “BouQ,” was released by XL Recording earlier in December. The four-song project is his third release on the label. He previously received critical acclaim for his EP “Dismantled Into Juice” (2023), which was described as “mesmerizing” and “part of a long and proud tradition of UK club tracks.”

“Woke Up Right Handed” (“brilliant, packing all the great stuff from every era of Blawan into five blissfully weird tracks” – Resident Advisor) and “long and proud tradition of UK club tracks that transform dance floors” – Pitchfork) are two examples of this. Blawan once again demonstrated his distinctive talents with “BouQ,” an EP that seamlessly integrates his vocals with eerie and disorienting electronic experimentation.

Blawan is now releasing the EP digitally and accepting pre-orders for the 12″ version, following the recent showcase of snippets of the EP in his DJ performances, which included a stage he curated at Draaimolen and Overmono’s Pure Devotion.

The initial track, “Fires,” which is a favorite among DJs such as Four Tet, Skrillex, and Joy Orbison, was released last month, providing a glimpse of the record’s expansive sound. Blawan’s reputation as a genuinely exceptional talent is further solidified with the release of “BouQ.”
