FESMI Chairman Yovie Widianto Expresses Complete Support For The Initiative To Include Art And Cultural Workers In Social Security Programs

Bingkai Karya– The Federation of Indonesian Musicians Union (FESMI), led by Candra Darusman and currently Cholil Mahmud as PLT Chairman, has partnered with BPJS Employment to ensure social security for musicians and music workers.

After registering with the BPJS Employment Office, top bands including KAHITNA, RAN, POTRET, and HiVi! gained social security protection at Jakarta Office-Grogol registration. Last week, the Heirs of Cultural Maestro Alm. Almujazi Mulku Zamari from Bau Bau, Southeast Sulawesi and Almh. Mrs. Jariah from Bungo Regency, Jambi province received social security benefits from Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, and President Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Anggoro Eko Cahyo.

During the distribution of BPJS funds, Fadli Zon stated that this social security recognizes cultural professions as equal to other sectors. Employment to the heirs of two deceased cultural maestros.

Anggoro Eko Cahyo, President Director of BPJS Employment, praised the Ministry of Culture for protecting and helping the two cultural maestros’ descendants. Through the Ministry of Culture workers are recognized by the BPJS Employment Program, which includes Death Insurance (JKM), Work Accident Insurance (JKK), and Old Age Insurance (JHT).

According to Restu Gunawan, Director General of the Ministry of Culture’s Protection of Culture and Tradition, approximately 90 cultural figures from AKI, AMI, and FFI have received government social security benefits. Yovie Widianto, the President’s Special Staff for Creative Economy and former FESMI Chairperson, praised the social security program for safeguarding the arts and cinema industry.

Rommi Irawan, Head of BPJamsostek Jakarta Grogol Office, expressed optimism that more people will join the program in response to this favorable result. “We expect more people to join BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, which offers ongoing socialization and education activities for art, cultural, and creative sector actors and ecosystems.”
