Wilson shared, “‘Selfish’ was one of those songs that came out effortlessly. It only took about three hours, a really natural and collaborative process between me, Saya Gray, Ace G, and Braden Sauder. The moment Saya sat down at the piano and played a few chords, I immediately knew where the song was headed. It’s the kind of moment every songwriter dreams of when there are no questions, only answers.”
“Selfish” arrives on the heels of a major milestone in Wilson’s career, her recent Innovator Award 2025 win at Billboard Canada Women in Music. This year’s ceremony was historic, marking the first ever presentation of the Innovator Award in Canada, a fitting honor for an artist whose creative vision and sonic identity have made her one of the most compelling voices in modern music.
