Bingkai KaryaOliver Sim has just released his latest single, “Telephone Games”, now available via Young. Reuniting with producer Bullion, the track is a soft electro-pop self-confession that continues Sim’s bold new era of experimentation and collaboration. Sim is best known as one-third of the London-based group The xx.

The release is accompanied by a stylish chat line–themed music video directed by acclaimed photographer and filmmaker Sharna Osborne, who previously collaborated with Sim on “Obsession.” The video was teased through mysterious call cards placed on phone boxes across London. The result perfectly captures the spirit of the song: playful, stylish, and a little cheeky in a smart way.

“Telephone Games” follows the success of “Obsession,” Sim’s first new music since his critically acclaimed 2022 debut solo album Hideous Bastard. Interestingly, “Obsession” marked Sim’s first release not produced by longtime collaborator and The xx bandmate Jamie xx, instead handled by Bullion and Taylor Skye. Despite this, The xx members remain closely connected, they are currently working on their highly anticipated fourth album, recently appeared together at Milan Fashion Week, and reunited on stage at Jamie’s LIDO Festival in London last summer.

Meanwhile, Oliver recently collaborated with SG Lewis on “Baby Blue,” one of the standout tracks from Lewis’s album Anemoia, and co-hosted a special NTS takeover show with Bullion.

Beyond music, Sim continues to expand his creative universe. He was recently invited by Jonathan Anderson to appear in the new JW Anderson “Resort” lookbook, alongside Saltburn actress Alison Oliver, director Luca Guadagnino, actors Joe Alwyn and Ben Whishaw, stylist Danielle Goldberg, designer Bella Freud, and photographer Gray Sorrenti.
