The debut song from two of Japan’s hottest new musicians, hip-hop/rap artist Leon Fanourakis and multi-platinum award-winning producer/artist Taka Perry, is named “EXPRESS.”
The release of “EXPRESS,” from their impending debut album THE GRIFFIN TAPES, provides as an excellent prelude to what may be expected from these two unstoppable artistic titans’ joint EP effort.
Tokyo, “EXPRESS” enhances the atmosphere of anticipation right away. Taka’s powerful rhythms and samples blend in perfectly with Leon’s fierce and fast-paced lyrics to create a highly compelled rap song that shows the two of them exploring Tokyo’s gritty streets.
A gloomy and scary music video for “EXPRESS” is included. The grainy black and white pictures, captured by Red Moon Studios, are reminiscent of the renowned (and widely outlawed) Firestarter music video by revolutionary electronic group The Prodigy.
The two began working together in 2021 on the powerful song “1234”. Over the next three years, they have created a massive body of new music and developed a close friendship.
