The Third C-130J-30 Super Hercules Aircraft for The Indonesian Air Force Landed in Indonesia

The Indonesian Ministry of Defence received the newest Indonesian Air Force C-130J-30 Super Hercules aircraft. The A-1343 aircraft is the third Super Hercules to land successfully on the runway at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta on August 9.

M. Tony Hardjono, S.E., M.M., and a number of other officials from the Ministry of Defence and the Indonesian Air Force welcomed the arrival of the A-1343 aircraft. The arrival of the third of five units ordered by the Indonesian government from the Lockheed Martin factory in Marietta, Georgia, United States of America, was greeted with a water salute and a sling for the A-1343’s crew. The two prior aircraft, with tail numbers A-1339 and A-1340, arrived in March and July of this year, respectively. Because the previous number had been used by other Indonesian Air Force Hercules aircraft, the numbering was changed to A-1343.

The plane arrived in the country following a ferry flight of more than 33 hours (7 days) with the Marietta-San Diego-Honolulu-Kwajalein-Agana (Guam)-Jakarta route. The plane took off from Marietta on August 3 and arrived in Indonesia on August 9. The ferry flight also contained two Indonesian Air Force pilots, Major Pnb Aleg Chandra and Captain Pnb Jatmiko Adi, as well as one Indonesian Air Force loadmaster, Lettu Tek Rico Aradea Putra from Jakarta’s 31st Air Squadron Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base. Meanwhile, the Lokcheed Martin flight crew included two pilots, Andrew White and Richard Anthony, as well as two load masters, Kevin Meadows and Williams Jeffrey.
