This Coffee Is Made Out Of Bird’s Feces!

These days, coffee is not just an additional drink to boost up your mood or performance through the amount of caffeine contained inside it, but this far, coffee has been a lifestyle that a bunch of people have to start and kick the day off.

One of the most famous, top notch, and expensive coffee is luwak coffee. Luwak coffee is made out of the digestive system of luwak, a certain type of wild ferret that is usually found in forests in Indonesia (Sumatera, Jawa, Kalimantan, Bali, Bawean dan Siberut). So it’s safe to say that luwak coffee originally came from Indonesia.

But apparently, luwak coffee now has its competitor in the coffee world. The newly-in competitor came from Brazil and was named as jacu coffee. Jacu coffee is made out of the feces of a jacu bird. The bird is one of those birds that is protected by the government of Brazil. Jacu birds generally have dark fur all over its body with a red spot in its neck.

Henrique Sloper is the owner of a coffee garden called Comocin Coffee in Esprito Santo, Brazil. He started his jacu coffee production journey in the 2000’s. At first, Sloper tried to cast out the jacu birds that perched on his garden and even called the police to cast them out. And the farmer didn’t know that jacu birds are rare animals and were protected by the government. But it turned out that the birds gave him so much blessing through the uniqueness of the coffee taste the birds produce.

And after 20 years, the feces of the exotic animal has been hunted by a lot of people. The coffee has become very famous in a lot of countries, like Japan, France, and even England. The selling price of the jacu coffee has reached 1.400 poundsterling or equals to 25,6 millions rupiah for each kilogram!
