Mawar de Jongh and Jaz Releases Their First Collab Single, “Bukan Dengan Dia”

Bingkai KaryaMawar de Jongh and Jaz teamed up for the first time in a single titled “Bukan Dengan Dia.” This song was composed by Martinus Tin Tin and Simhala Avadana, also known as Mhala. This project brought together two vocalists from two major companies, notably Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia (Jaz) and Trinity Optima Production (Mawar).

This collaboration itself is a form of exploration to get closer to music enthusiasts overall. Mawar and Jaz were chosen to sing this song because they both have their own distinctive styles. Their sweet character and melodious voices will be the main attraction of the single “Bukan Dengan Dia.”

As the title suggests, the song tells the story of a couple who are not destined to be together. “Perhaps, you could say they’re not meant to be. This condition can occur due to various factors. So, this song has various perspectives and meanings, depending on who’s listening,” explained Jaz.

Although this is their first meeting in a single, both have previously collaborated with other musicians. Mawar has collaborated with Julian Jacob, Adikara, Juicy Luicy and Dee Lestari. Meanwhile, Jaz himself has worked with Lalahuta and Kaka Azraff, a singer from Malaysia. Bringing together two singers in one song is certainly not easy. Besides time, adjusting the tones in this song was acknowledged by both Jaz and Mawar to be a challenge.

The relatively short time for this collaboration was truly utilized by Jaz and Mawar to build chemistry. “We met for the first time during the workshop for the song “Bukan Dengan Dia”. In that relatively short time, we tried to maximize it by chatting more to build our chemistry, which would be felt when we sang it later,” Mawar added.

With the collaboration of two singers from two different labels, Mawar and Jaz both expressed their hopes that this song would receive a positive response from everyone who listens. “Hopefully, this song can entertain and accompany those who have experienced the same story as in the song,” Mawar concluded.
