Bingkai Karya–Nabila Taqiyyah and Malaysian band Insomniacks worked together on a single “Belum Mulai.” This single was released under the banner of Universal Music Indonesia and Universal Music Malaysia.
“Belum Mulai” tells a story about a person who must let their love end, even though it hasn’t yet begun. This song expresses the emotions of someone who, although their own love story has not yet started, must let go of the person they love for a reason.
This is an interesting collaboration between the two musicians, where for Nabila Taqiyyah this collaboration shows another side of herself as a singer through songs that have a strong band feel. Meanwhile, for Insomniacks, the song “Belum Mulai” is the first Indonesian language song they released.
“I’m very really happy because this is my first collaboration and what’s special is that it’s with Insomniacks. The entire production process runs smoothly and pleasantly. So, I hope all listeners can enjoy this song as much as we enjoyed the entire process of making it,” said Nabila in response to her collaboration.
The Music Arrangement and Video
For the sound department, the musical arrangement is kept simple by presenting colorful nuances of pop ballad music at the beginning where the acoustic guitar is the main weapon. In the middle to the end, the song includes elements of rock that are thick with distortion. Even though it’s not much, it is a sign that they still put band elements into the song arrangements.
Meanwhile, talking about the music video, it is also made with a simple, yet visually comfortable impression. The music video for “Belum Mulai” was done by Kolmar Films with Ido Aruan as director. The shooting was carried out in the Yogyakarta area. “Making the music video in Yogyakarta was very impressive, because it was the first time we were able to come there and it was even more special because it was with Nabila,” said Insomniacks.
Both Insomniacks and Nabila Taqiyyah hope that this song can be heard by many music lovers, both in Malaysia and Indonesia. And for those who are feeling the same way as the song’s story, hopefully it can be an inspiration in finding the best way to solve it.
