After a Year-Long Break, Jasmine Nadya Finally Released Her New Single, “Sorry I Phone You”: A Heartfelt Exploration of Regret

Bingkai KaryaJasmine Nadya released her new single, “Sorry I Phone You,” after a year-long break, on September 20, 2024. The song explores feelings of regret in a relationship. Jasmine wrote it based on her own experiences, “Drawing from personal experience, I wrote ‘Sorry I Phone You’ to express my regret for connecting with someone I never imagined being with. I was the one who reached out first, mainly out of fear of being lonely. So, this song is kind of an apology because I realized I shouldn’t have done that.”

According to Jasmine, this single feels different from her previous work, not in terms of the music, but in her character.  While her last songs were about falling in love, this one focuses on guilt and regret. She aims to connect more deeply with her fans through it. “While my last two songs were about falling in love, this one is more personal. It’s about guilt and regret over what I’ve done. I hope this song can speak to people who have felt the same way but haven’t found a song that expresses it yet. I also hope it can help build a stronger connection between me and my listeners,” Jasmine said.

Releasing her third single, “Sorry I Phone You” feels like a big responsibility for Jasmine. It’s given her a renewed passion to keep growing. Through this song, Jasmine also found her musical direction. It reflects her growth as an artist, moving toward a folk style. She wants to show more complex sides of her life.

Describing her single, Jasmine chose the words “Dark, Intimate, and Sentimental.” She notes it has a darker mood than her previous bright and dreamy songs, emphasizing the personal reflections in her voice and the song’s message.
