Adam says Eross impulsively encouraged his friends to record in a new format, giving them their first worldwide exposure. One of their first visits was Europe. Eross suggested a live Swiss or Swedish recording, not multitrack.
Eross wanted Sheila on 7 to try something new. Let’s record, said Eross. Record anything affecting mood tomorrow. Adam suggested recording in Indonesia but renting a villa. Recording in Europe was impossible. After much consideration, they picked Japan to finish their new works.
Sony Music Studios Japan was chosen. The selection was influenced by cost, distance, and other variables. Adam said Europe didn’t think Sheila could be on 7. “Initial plans were to record the new song in Japan. Ambassador proposed mixing-mastering only while Jogja recorded midway through the drive” Adam said.
In Jogja, all instruments and vocals were recorded to expedite production. Finally, Yuta Yoneyama mixed and Hidekazu Sakai mastered at Sony Music Studios, Akasaka, Minato City, Tokyo.
“Mixing mastering is important since engineers’ tastes affect it. We wanted to try something new” Adam said.
In addition to mixing and mastering, Sheila on 7 produced live performance videos of many tracks in the studio. They called it unforgettable. “Live music feels more intense than multitrack, which is more meticulous. Sloppy live tracking may energize the environment” Adam added.
Japan’s fun environment involves equipment. The studio equipment in current countries is a fantasy since musicians want to visit. Indeed, I felt it. Eross said the technology provides comfortable, high-quality live tracking.
