Bingkai Karya – The heartfelt voices of two Indonesian music maestros return through the legendary work ‘Titip Rindu Buat Ayah’ (Say Longing for Father), now presented with a fresh touch. Two inspiring figures lead this meaningful project with Musica Studios. Ebiet G. Ade and Iwan Fals, in a collaboration that unites their long journeys in music.
Written by Ebiet G. Ade, the song delivers a deeper emotional nuance. The presence of Iwan Fals’ voice feels like a dialogue between two longtime friends who mutually respect each other’s artistry.
Ebiet G. Ade shared, “This song holds a very personal meaning for me as it was born from my deep longing for my parents. Since junior high school, I had to live apart from them for school, and that longing is what I poured into this song.”
Meanwhile, Iwan Fals expressed his gratitude for the opportunity. “As I joked with Mas Ebiet, this collaboration is like a forehead reunion since both of us have no hair left. I am truly grateful to be able to meet him in this collaboration. Alhamdulillah, I am still blessed with health to sing together with him.”
This collaboration, initiated by Musica Studios, came to life through the dedication of many parties. Executive Producer of Musica Studios, Indrawati Widjaja fondly known as Ibu Acin stated, “The collaboration between Ebiet G. Ade and Iwan Fals is a historic moment for Indonesian music. Interestingly, ‘Titip Rindu Buat Ayah’ (Say Longing for Father) was specially produced by David and Lukman of NOAH as Music Producers. They provided an arrangement that preserves the authenticity of the original while presenting a fresher, more relevant production for listeners across generations. David contributed piano and emotional atmosphere, while Lukman strengthened the dynamics with warm guitar tones creating harmonies that blend beautifully with both vocal characters.
Beyond the recording, this collaboration will also come to life on stage. On September 5, 2025, Iwan Fals and Ebiet G. Ade are scheduled to perform together at Pestapora 2025. This performance is expected to be one of the most memorable moments, presenting collaboration and warmth that bridge across generations.
