Bingkai Karya – Two talented young soloists, Alvin Lapian and Grace Kaitlin, have officially released their first collaborative work, “Memori”. Written by composer Resa Husin over five days in 2023, “Memori” tells the story of a pair of ex-lovers who unexpectedly reunite. The encounter instantly evokes small, enduring memories, from the familiar scent of perfume, a favorite black shirt, to the red-and-blue bracelet on their right wrist. The song highlights how, even after a relationship ends, sincere love and beautiful memories remain deeply cherished, leaving behind the hope of reuniting if fate permits.
Roommate Project (Aldi Fachrobby and Raymond Aditya) served as music producers for this song. The arrangement was deliberately crafted to feel personal and intimate. The beautiful interpretation of the lyrics is further enhanced by the direction of Mohammed Kamga, the vocal director.
“Alvin and Grace have strong and unique vocal characteristics. This collaboration was a perfect fit right from the recording process. With the help of Mas Kamga, one of the best vocal directors in Indonesia, the results were truly satisfying,” said composer Resa Husin. For Alvin Lapian, this song has a distinct emotional approach.
“I think the song “Memori” isn’t just about the past, but about two people who once had a special place for each other and were finally reunited. The biggest challenge was how to convey this personal sense of nostalgia without sounding emotionally explosive. Building chemistry with Grace, from the workshop to the recording, was very easy because we complement each other,” Alvin explained.
Sharing the same sentiment as Alvin, Grace Kaitlin felt this song would be very relatable to many. “This song talks about the habits and little things of someone we were once close to, which remain the same and stay in our memories forever. Working with Alvin was a pleasure. He’s such a sweet and kind person, making the entire process, from the workshop to the music video, run smoothly without any significant obstacles,” Grace added.
Directed by Gaby & David of YOUKNOWWHOFILM, the music video for “Memori” tells the story of Alvin and Grace, who dated during college, until they were forced to separate due to distance. Years later, they accidentally run into each other in Jakarta and realize that their feelings for each other have never truly changed. The video flows like an inner monologue between the two, intertwined with flashbacks of fond memories they had quietly kept for years.
Through this song, Alvin and Grace hope that “Memori” will be warmly received by Indonesian music lovers and become a safe space to reminisce about the past. “We hope that the song “Memori” can be a companion for those with fond memories, whether with an ex, a friend, or even a particular phase of life. We want listeners to understand that sometimes memories are meant to be celebrated and embraced, not regretted,” Alvin concluded.
“Memori” is available on all digital music platforms and on MyMusic Records’ YouTube channel starting May 22, 2026.
