Bingkai Karya – The journey toward Dee Lestari’s third album is finally complete. Following the release of three singles “(Jangan) Jatuh Cinta,” “Perahu Kertas,” and “Kabarku,” Dee Lestari now presents a full-length album featuring eight of her latest songs. The album is filled with pleasant surprises. One of them is the appearance of Afgan on the duet track “Cuma Satu Nama,” a song written by Dee Lestari and her late husband, Reza Gunawan. Another highlight is “Hujan Bulan Juni,” a long-awaited collaboration between Dee Lestari and the late Sapardi Djoko Damono. Originally created for the 2017 film adaptation of the novel “Hujan Bulan Juni,” the song has finally been recorded and included in Dee Lestari’s latest album.

‘(Jangan) Jatuh Cinta’ serves as the album title, reflecting a heartfelt journey through the many shades of love. The tracklist has been carefully arranged to portray the colorful highs and lows experienced by the Sang Hati throughout its journey.

The album opens with its first single, “(Jangan) Jatuh CInta,” arranged with both warmth and emotional depth by Rendy Pandugo. The song acts as a gentle “warning” of the emotional road ahead, while Teddy Adhitya’s backing vocals add a distinctive touch. It is followed by “Patah Hati,” produced by Gala Yudhatama and Pandji Akbari, whose modern and dynamic sound captures the heart’s first experience of heartbreak from a love it could not avoid.

The journey continues with “Kabarku,” the album’s third single and third track. It represents the heart’s rock-bottom moment, when it is cast into its lowest emotional state. Soulfully arranged by Fellow Amateurs: Mikha Angelo, Yosua Gian, Geddi Jaddi Membummi, and Nathania S. Alexandra, the song has become a listener favorite thanks to its honest, beautiful, and highly relatable lyrics.

In the fourth track, “Hujan Bulan Juni,” the heart discovers hope once again amid a complex emotional landscape it must still navigate. Sapardi’s legendary poem “Hujan Bulan Juni” forms the foundation of the song, while Gardika Gigih weaves it into an immersive live-session atmosphere. The choir vocals by Barsena Bestandhi add a majestic and powerful dimension to the track.

The fifth song, “Jadi Udara,” brings a breath of fresh air and marks a sweeter chapter in the story. The heart finally finds another heart that dissolves its uncertainty. Produced by Dimas Wibisana, the song features a bright and upbeat arrangement, with Arina Ephipania of Mocca providing backing vocals. Members of Dee Lestari’s management team, including vocal director Kamga Mo, also lend their voices to the track. The result is an anthem-like song that adds a unique accent to the album.

The sixth track, “Perahu Kertas,” reinforces heart’s journey as it finally finds a place to anchor. Petra Sihombing’s arrangement successfully reimagines what has become one of Dee Lestari’s classic signature songs.

The seventh song, “Cuma Satu Nama,” serves as the album’s celebratory peak, a moment when two hearts finally dare to step onto a new path together. This collaboration between Dee Lestari and the late Reza Gunawan is performed as a duet with one of Indonesia’s leading male singers, Afgan. Once again, Petra Sihombing takes the role of producer, delivering a fresh, elegant, and timeless arrangement for this love song.

The album closes with “Bintang Utara.” Here, the Sang Hati’s maturity is tested as it learns the meaning of letting go with sincerity. “Bintang Utara” tells the universal story of the relationship between parent and child. As a child grows up and leaves home, the heart once again learns the true meaning of love, one that is unconditional and boundless. Lafa Pratomo provides a sweet yet grounded orchestral arrangement that is both heartbreaking and hopeful.

Eighteen years have passed since the release of ‘Rectoverso.’ With “(Jangan) Jatuh Cinta,” Dee returns to the music world with remarkable strength and clarity. Her unique position as a writer, singer, and songwriter is fully reflected throughout the album. High-quality lyrics, sophisticated songwriting, mature vocals, and powerful storytelling place Dee Lestari and “(Jangan)Jatuh Cinta” in a category of their own.

Listeners will be treated to songs rich in stories and emotional songs destined to become timeless works that remain relevant across generations, just as many of Dee Lestari’s previous songs have done. Welcome to this fresh new chapter from Dee Lestari. Today.
