Bingkai Karya – Beyoncé celebrated the Fourth of July holiday with a special gift for her fans, unveiling “MORNING DEW (DONK),” a brand-new song that also marks the beginning of a 60-day countdown to her upcoming birthday, as well as the 20th anniversary reissue of ‘B’DAY,’ her groundbreaking sophomore album originally released on September 4, 2006.
Written by Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, and Darius Dixon, and produced by Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams, “MORNING DEW (DONK)” is the global superstar’s first new release in two years. The track serves as a heartfelt tribute to the loyal BeyHive, kicking off the celebration leading up to the milestone anniversary of ‘B’DAY.’
The song, which will be included on the 20th Anniversary Edition of ‘B’DAY,’ arrives alongside a lyric video featuring restored archival footage, directed by longtime collaborator Cliff Watts. Watts is also the photographer behind Beyoncé’s iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover shoot ahead of her 25th birthday.
‘B’DAY’ became Beyoncé’s second consecutive No. 1 album, selling 541,196 copies in its first week following its worldwide release on September 4, 2006, and its U.S. release on September 5, 2006.
The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in the United States and repeated its chart-topping success in several international markets, including Japan, where it reached No. 1 on the International Album Chart in less than three days after its release.
