Bingkai Karya Lil Asian Thiccie and dj magn3sium return with “yearn”, their latest collaborative release ahead of their AXEAN Festival debut. Following their collaborative EP DVD-R, the new track marks the next step in the duo’s campaign toward the festival stage while revealing a more vulnerable and deliberately unresolved side of their sound.

“yearn” explores the art of wanting the instinct to chase something that remains just out of reach. The track captures the frustration and anticipation of reaching for an uncertain desire, using incomplete sentences, arresting vocal stutters and an endless riser before breaking into an anti-gravitational pocket of negative space.

Rather than rushing toward a conventional release, the song deliberately holds its tension. Its immersive and unresolved arrangement reflects the uneasy space between anticipation and release, while maintaining a delicate emotional core. The track also introduces a new dimension to the collaboration, featuring dj magn3sium’s first-ever verse.

Sonically, “yearn” represents a shift from the energy of their previous collaborative work. Where DVD-R pursued immediacy and euphoria, the new release slows the pulse and places tension at the centre, allowing the duo to explore a more exposed and vulnerable musical direction.

The release arrives as the duo prepares for AXEAN Festival, with Lil Asian Thiccie and dj magn3sium set to continue releasing new music throughout August, including weekly Bandcamp exclusives supporting their fundraising campaign. The project’s visual world is supported by Nothing, with visual assets created using Nothing’s technology.

For Lil Asian Thiccie, the collaboration adds another chapter to an evolving artistic identity. The Kuala Lumpur-based singer, rapper and songwriter is known for infectious hooks, unpredictable genre switches and a catalogue spanning trap, pop and electronica. Her distinctive delivery has established her as a notable presence in Malaysia’s urban music scene.

Meanwhile, dj magn3sium, a Sarawakian producer-DJ formerly known as Alextbh, brings together hypnotic four-on-the-floor refrains, 90s trance influences and warehouse-style euphoric sounds. His approach to melody and electronic production provides a contrasting yet complementary force within the duo.

“yearn” is out now for streaming and purchase, offering listeners an immersive glimpse into the duo’s evolving sound as they move toward their upcoming festival appearance and the next stage of their collaborative journey.
