Bingkai Karya – Barry Can’t Swim returns with ‘Dance Dance Dance!’, his latest release via Atlantic Records. Inspired by the golden era of French touch, the track sees the Scottish producer move beyond the club-focused foundations of his sound, combining shimmering synths, playful keytar, and euphoric French vocals to create a fresh evolution of his musical identity.
The release marks the second collaboration between Barry Can’t Swim and Atlantic Records, following an increasingly active period for the artist. Behind the Barry Can’t Swim moniker is Joshua Mainnie, who recently made appearances across the United States, including walking the KidSuper SS27 runway in Miami, performing back-to-back with Brazilian DJ Mochakk at Miami’s legendary Club Space, and bringing an impromptu pop-up party to the streets of Brooklyn.
‘Dance Dance Dance!’ arrives as Barry Can’t Swim continues to establish himself as one of the most prominent names in contemporary electronic music. His headline shows have consistently sold out around the world, while his festival appearances have further expanded his international profile. In 2025, he headlined and curated All Points East in London, delivering an edition that was widely regarded as one of the festival’s most memorable days.
Earlier this year, the Edinburgh-born producer and DJ contributed his first release in five years to the acclaimed ‘Late Night Tales’ series as part of its 25th-anniversary celebrations. His catalogue also includes the 2023 Mercury Prize-nominated debut album ‘When Will We Land?’, while his label Earth’s Only Paradise has positioned him as an important curator within electronic music, supporting emerging artists including O’Flynn, SHEE, and Sam Alfred and contributing to the curation of Manchester’s Warehouse Project.
Barry Can’t Swim’s influence extends beyond music. His recent collaborations with the Scotland men’s national football team and Adidas Originals have brought his work into the worlds of sport and fashion. His track ‘Deadbeat Gospel’ was selected as the official soundtrack for the Scotland team’s FIFA World Cup 2026 announcement video, narrated by Ewan McGregor.
