Bingkai KaryaAwich, CHICO CARLITO, ONE OK ROCK, and Paledusk unite through YAO’s second single, “FOR OKINAWA”, released on September 4, 2026. Rooted in conversations about Okinawa’s history, culture, and enduring scars, the track brings together four distinct musical perspectives around a shared message of peace and a commitment to preserving cultural heritage.

YAO emerged as a collaborative project connecting artists from different backgrounds across hip-hop, rock, mainstream, and underground music. Its second release, “FOR OKINAWA”, grew naturally from conversations among its members during the production process. Okinawa natives Awich and CHICO CARLITO brought personal stories and perspectives shaped by their homeland, including the realities faced by those who continue to carry its history.

Those experiences resonated deeply with the other members of YAO. Taka of ONE OK ROCK, who was born in Tokyo, shared the group’s desire to communicate a message of peace while protecting Okinawa’s cultural heritage. The connection between their different backgrounds became the foundation for the new track.

During the creative process, Taka challenged himself to create a melody unlike anything he had attempted before. The resulting song reflects the individual experiences, roots, and perspectives of each member while bringing them together around a common purpose. Rather than separating their identities, YAO uses those differences as a starting point for a collective expression.

With “FOR OKINAWA”, YAO continues to explore what can emerge when artists from different musical and cultural worlds come together. The project draws inspiration from the Japanese concept of “Yaoyorozu”, the belief that countless spirits exist in all things, reflecting YAO’s wider vision of coexistence, connection, and respect between diverse creative voices.

The new single also expands YAO’s artistic world beyond the music itself. A music video for “FOR OKINAWA” is set to be released soon, offering another perspective on the story and themes behind the track.

“FOR OKINAWA” is available to listen to now. Audiences can experience YAO’s latest work and follow the collective as it continues to push beyond musical and cultural boundaries through new forms of artistic expression.
