Bingkai Karya — Jasmine Yen, the 22-year-old singer-songwriter and independent artist based between Hong Kong and Los Angeles, has released “SWEAT,” a dark pop single that introduces a bolder and more mature direction in her music. Now available across major streaming platforms, the track marks a significant step forward in Jasmine’s creative journey, combining theatrical grandeur, fashion-forward aesthetics, and raw emotional intensity.
Built around deep synths, a booming bassline, and Jasmine’s alluring yet commanding vocals, “SWEAT” explores desire, obsession, and the intoxicating sensation of losing control. The track balances vulnerability with confidence, creating a sound that feels both captivating and unsettling while remaining inviting enough to dance to. Its dark pop identity reflects Jasmine’s growing commitment to shaping a musical world entirely on her own terms.
“I wanted ‘SWEAT’ to feel like a runway show, beautiful, dark, and a little dangerous,” Jasmine says. “Every sound, every lyric, and every visual is designed to take you into an intense, theatrical, and unapologetically fashion-forward world. This is the most honest work I’ve ever made.”
The accompanying music video, directed by Erik He and filmed in Stockholm, is scheduled to premiere on October 9. Set entirely indoors, the visual follows Jasmine through contrasting and atmospheric environments, emphasizing physical movement and emotional intensity. Flowing choreography, spontaneous improvisation, and expressive movement allow her to use her body as a storytelling instrument, while sculptural styling and haute couture bring Stockholm’s reputation as a global fashion and design capital into the visual language.
The release also represents Jasmine’s first major project as an independent artist, giving her greater creative control over her artistic vision. Following the teenage introspection of her debut album Tbh and the nostalgic appeal of her 2024 hit “Forever 19,” Jasmine now embraces a darker and more mature identity.
From earning a half-tuition scholarship to Berklee College of Music to seeing “Forever 19” recognized among RTHK’s Top 10 International Gold Songs, her journey has led to this new chapter of artistic independence.
“Being independent has given me the freedom to take risks and not feel the need to apologize for what I want to create,” Jasmine adds. “‘SWEAT’ is the most honest picture of who I am right now expressive, theatrical, and completely free. This is only the beginning.”
“SWEAT” is now available on all major streaming platforms. The music video is set to premiere on October 9, opening another chapter in Jasmine Yen’s evolving creative journey.
