Bringing this familiar feeling to life, Jenaka Mahila introduces her latest single, “Memendam Suka,” released on October 23, 2026, under MyMusic Records. Written by Ana Achjuman, the song captures the innocent excitement, awkward encounters, and unspoken affection that come with having a first crush.
Through relatable lyrics inspired by everyday school experiences, “Memendam Suka” takes listeners back to the memorable days of young romance. From a seatmate casually borrowing a book to the hesitation of admitting one’s feelings, the song portrays the familiar yet exciting experience of liking someone in secret. For Jenaka, this release marks an important new chapter in her musical journey. Following her previous single, “Teman Sejati?”, released on June 20, 2025, she now explores romantic themes for the first time. While her previous release offered a personal perspective on friendship and emotional disappointment through lyrics and melodies she wrote herself, “Memendam Suka” allows her to discover a different side of her musical identity.
“This is the first time I want to release a song about love and having a crush, so it’s a fresh start for me, like exploring new things,” Jenaka shared.
The recording process also presented a challenge as she had not visited a recording studio for quite some time. She had to readjust to the studio environment and find her rhythm again. Despite the initial adjustment, the experience became part of her journey in exploring this new musical direction.
One lyric that particularly resonates with Jenaka is, “Aku mulai curiga kalau kau ada rasa, sampaikanlah saja kepadaku” (I am starting to suspect that you have feelings too, so just tell me). She finds the line especially adorable and relatable, reflecting the playful curiosity of someone hoping their feelings are returned.
The song’s story continues through its music video, which follows Jenaka through a day filled with daydreaming about her secret crush. From writing her feelings in a diary and relaxing by the swimming pool to cycling in the park, each scene captures the excitement of being in love.
