Bingkai Karya – Pee Wee Gaskins return with their latest single, “Kami Kembali,” a song that celebrates the enduring spirit of creating music, returning to the stage, and continuing their journey alongside their devoted listeners. More than a statement of the band’s return, the single reflects a renewed determination to pursue what they love while embracing the experiences and perspectives they have gained over the years. “Kami Kembali” is now available on all digital streaming platforms.
After a long journey that has taken its members through different stages of life, Pee Wee Gaskins approach this new chapter with a perspective that goes beyond nostalgia. Rather than attempting to recreate who they were in the past, the band sees this release as an opportunity to move forward with fresh energy and stories to share.
“For me, this song is a statement that we are still here and still have so much we want to do. We don’t just want to remind people of the Pee Wee Gaskins they knew before, but also show that we still have new stories to share,” said Dochi.
The meaning of returning in this song extends beyond the band’s musical journey. “Kami Kembali” also speaks to anyone trying to begin again, whether it means pursuing postponed dreams, returning to something they love, reconnecting with old friends, or simply finding the motivation to face another day.
“Coming back doesn’t mean repeating the past. For me, it means continuing something that has never truly ended. We all change, and our lives change too, but there are things we still love and want to fight for,” Dochi added.
Creatively, the song emerged from the band’s longing to get moving again. Despite their busy schedules and responsibilities outside music, their desire to create songs and meet Dorks on stage never disappeared. Ayi Mahardhika crafted the arrangement, while Dochi Sadega wrote the lyrics, bringing together a straightforward message that encourages listeners to take another step forward.
Following their collaboration with Boniex on “(R)u(N)tuh,” Pee Wee Gaskins bring back the distinctive energy that Dorks have long associated with the band. The familiar combination of melodies, energy, and emotion remains present, now delivered through a more mature perspective.
“The important thing is not to sound exactly like we did before, but to remain honest about who Pee Wee Gaskins are today,” said Sansan.
