Everything to Know Before You Watch Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’

Christopher Nolan, the legendary and award winning producer known for its cinematic shots, is back with its 12th cinematic creation “Oppenheimer”, airing on July 21, 2023. The movie Oppenheimer is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning biography titled ‘American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer’. The biopic follows J. Robert Oppenheimer, played by Cillian Murphy, the scientist who famously led the Manhattan Project, an effort to create the atomic bomb during World War II. 

In Christohper Nolan’s new pieces, although everyone knows what happened in the story, since it’s a biography. Christopher Nolan decided to tell it differently. Hence, until now nothing is really known about the plot of the movie. However, Nolan said that it is a movie with cinematic masterpieces created to capture the moments when humanity firstly discovered atomic bombs. As such, Christopher Nolan decided to use as little CGI as possible when creating Oppenheimer, especially the nuclear scenes.

The movie Oppenheimer first peek and announcement is in July 2022. Where it was a countdown livestream with flash images from the movies, telling us how many days left until the movie shows up. The announcement was created as if it was a nuclear deployment countdown clock, a clever idea to convey the whole story while revealing so little.

The Official trailer of Oppenheimer came 5 months after the initial announcement came in December 2022. The two-minute teaser opens with a massive explosion. The camera then cuts to Murphy’s character, who appears to be orchestrating the creation of the infamous atomic bomb. In May 2023, Universal Pictures premiered a second trailer. At three minutes long, it’s the most in-depth look at the upcoming film yet.
