Can’t believe it’s already the end of July. That means, new month, new movies! In August, there will be many films that will be released in theaters with a variety of different genres, here is the recommended movies to watch this August :
- Meg 2: The Trench
Meg 2: The Trench is an American movie with an action and adventure genre. This movie is a continuation of the previous The Meg series which was released in 2018. This movie was adapted from the novel entitled: The Trench by Steve Alten.
This movie tells of researchers who return to explore the Mariana Trench and receive threats from ancient animals known as megalodons. This movie will be released on August 4th, 2023.
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem
This film is an animated production by Point Gray Picture in collaboration with Nickelodeon Animation Studios and distributed directly by Paramount Pictures. This movie will be released on August 4th, 2023.
This movie tells the story of the adventures of the four turtles who have the power of martial arts. With their abilities, they perform heroic actions and are assisted by a partner: April O’Neil.
- Blue Beetle
This movie is adapted from DC comics. It tells of a young man named Jaime Reyes who suddenly has super powers due to the bite of a blue beetle named Scarab. The blue beetle has fused with its spine and when it wakes up it has turned into a Blue Beetle.
This blue beetle has a goal to rule the earth, but Jamie uses it to save the earth by becoming a hero. Jamie has various abilities outside of his body, such as lasers, flying and releasing energy in the form of a shield to protect himself.
This movie will be released on August 18, 2023.

- Concrete Utopia
This movie is a webtoon adaptation: Joyful Outcast (Pleasant Neighbors). This disaster thriller film tells the events that several people experienced after an extraordinary earthquake and will be on air in Indonesian cinemas on August 23rd, 2023.
This film stars well-known actors and actresses, namely Park Seo Joon, Park Bo Young, and Lee Byung Hun. The trailer for this film has been officially released on Lotte Entertainment’s YouTube channel.
