Bingkai Karya – Genre-defying multi-platinum rock superstars Good Charlotte are officially back with their brand-new single “Stepper”, now available on all streaming platforms. Alongside the single, the band has unveiled an accompanying music video directed by Erik Rojas, bringing a creative visual twist to the story behind the song.
Set in a quirky motel, the video features Benji and Joel Madden as maintenance managers, watching as the guests come to life in their own strange, wonderful ways while singing “Stepper.” As the characters embrace their true selves, the video becomes a reflection of personal empowerment and raw, human spirit.
“‘Stepper’ is a song about showing up for life, for yourself, and for the people you love,” share Benji and Joel. “It’s about getting up every day and trying your best not just for your own dreams, but for the dreams you share with the ones you love. Celebrate each other and everything you’ve been through together.”
“Stepper” follows the band’s powerful comeback track “Rejects”, released last month a gritty, emotionally honest anthem that reintroduced Good Charlotte with their signature edge and heart. Both songs will be featured on their upcoming album ‘Motel Du Cap’, set for release on August 8 via Atlantic Records.
The new album marks Good Charlotte’s eighth studio project and their most personal to date, fusing early-2000s nostalgia with matured introspection. It also reunites the original members: Joel Madden (vocals), Benji Madden (guitar/vocals), Paul Thomas (bass), and Billy Martin (guitar/keyboards) ushering in what the band calls their official “Act 2.”
From a Private Wedding to a Global Comeback The inspiration for Motel Du Cap began at an unexpected place: a private wedding performance in 2023 at the legendary Hotel du Cap in France. The beauty of the moment, the freedom of performing without pressure, and the emotional energy of the night sparked something new for the band.
“It was this wild, once-in-a-lifetime vibe,” Joel recalls. “We were just there to celebrate no pressure and it reminded us why we started this in the first place: pure, unfiltered connection.”
That energy became the heartbeat of Motel Du Cap a stripped-down, emotionally honest album rooted in connection, reflection, and love for the craft.
About Good Charlotte
Good Charlotte has spent nearly three decades writing anthems for outsiders, underdogs, and dreamers. Hailing from Waldorf, Maryland, the band skyrocketed to fame with timeless hits like “The Anthem” and “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous,” and have since sold over 11 million albums worldwide.
With more than 2.3 billion streams, 7 RIAA-certified releases, 6 Top 10 Alternative Radio Singles, and 4 Billboard Hot 100 Top 20 tracks, the band continues to be a dynamic and authentic force in modern rock. Their upcoming album, Motel Du Cap, is more than a comeback—it’s a declaration of passion, growth, and what it means to still believe in the power of a great song.
