A C-Pop Ballad Reborn: WUKONG’s Take on LBI’s “Jumping Machine”

Bingkai Karya – Originally released as a heartfelt C-Pop love ballad by Chinese singer LBI, “Jumping Machine” is now transformed to a heart-pumping anthem by Singaporean DJ, WUKONG.

Ranked among the Top 100 DJs worldwide and known for infusing traditional Chinese elements into his sound, WUKONG transforms the beautifully written ballad with a sonically charged beat.

“Jumping Machine” uses the drop tower ride—also known as the “jumping machine”—as a powerful metaphor to capture the emotional highs and sudden lows of a relationship you can’t let go of. With tender vocals and poignant lyrics, LBI expresses the aching sadness of wishing someone would lie and say they still love you, even when you know deep down, they no longer do.

Since its release, “Jumping Machine” has stormed charts across Southeast Asia including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. It even peaked at #11 on Spotify’s Global Viral Chart. The track’s infectious hooks have transcended language barriers, with non-Chinese speaking audiences worldwide sharing their renditions on social media. This widespread appeal positions it as one of 2025’s most promising Chinese music exports.

On 5th June, Sony Music launched the groundbreaking “Jumping Machine Goes Global” initiative. The project offers fans two exciting ways to get involved: by nominating their dream artists to cover the track and by submitting their own creative re-imaginings. Whether it’s fresh lyrics, genre-bending remixes, or bold new styles, Sony Music is open to it all. Outstanding interpretations could even be selected for an official release. The goal of this project is to encourage an infinite relationship between the music label, artists, and fans across the globe.
