Bingkai Karya – Musicians Bilal Indrajaya and Maudy Ayunda have officially released their newest collaboration, a reimagined version of “Kau” originally performed by the band Dua and first released in 2004. This collaboration highlights the meeting of two distinct artistic identities: Bilal with his nostalgic romantic touch, and Maudy with her warm, delicate vocal character. Together, they bring new life to a song that holds deep personal meaning for both of them.
The project began from a spontaneous moment backstage. While waiting to perform, Bilal picked up his guitar, and the melody of “Kau” resurfaced, one that had frequently accompanied his school years. That flash of memory sparked the desire to create a more intimate and personal reinterpretation of the song, one that resonates with who he is today. During the search for the perfect duet partner, Maudy’s name immediately came to mind.
Maudy warmly embraced the invitation. With over a decade of musical experience, she joined the creative process from the start, helping shape the emotional tone and new character of this refreshed version. Her presence adds emotional depth and a signature warmth that complements Bilal’s vocal style.
In bringing this reinterpretation to life, Bilal and Maudy entrusted Lafa Pratomo as producer. Having previously worked on Bilal’s latest EP and Maudy’s most recent album, Lafa once again crafted a refined production space rooted in sensitivity and intention. The new arrangement emphasizes the timeless beauty of the song’s melody while allowing both vocals to shine preserving the simplicity and sincerity of the original.
This collaboration also came together through the support of the two labels behind each artist: Aksara Records, home to Bilal Indrajaya, and Trinity Optima Production, representing Maudy Ayunda. Their synergy ensured a smooth creative process and a release that stands strong in both artistic vision and production quality.
The 2025 version of “Kau” by Bilal Indrajaya and Maudy Ayunda is not merely a remake, it is a heartfelt reinterpretation that bridges two decades of nostalgia with warmth, softness, and emotional relevance for today’s listeners.
