Bingkai Karya – “Perjalanan” marks an evocative new collaboration between celebrated vocalist Ernie Zakri and Indonesia’s renowned composer producer Andi Rianto, presenting a deeply emotional piece that transforms life stories into music. With lyrics written entirely by Ernie and musical composition and production crafted by Andi, the song blends heartfelt storytelling with a rich, expressive melody.
The single explores the personal journeys, experiences, and challenges both artists have faced throughout their careers in the creative industry. Through soulful melodies and honest lyrics, “Perjalanan” stands as a reflection and tribute to the unique paths every individual takes.
According to Ernie, the concept emerged during their earliest creative sessions. “The idea came when Andi asked me to write lyrics about what I personally felt. We both began reminiscing about our life journeys, and that’s where the decision to shape the lyrics based on our own experiences came from,” Ernie explains.
For Andi, the main inspiration behind the composition was Ernie herself. “My inspiration is Ernie Zakri. She has gone through so many moments both highs and lows in the industry, and I felt this was the perfect time for her to sing a song like ‘Perjalanan.’”
The creation process flowed naturally and spontaneously. “Everything happened organically. During the workshop, I suddenly found a melody that felt right for Ernie’s story. We discussed the concept together, and everything just came together effortlessly. It was truly enjoyable.”
Sharing her experience working with Andi, Ernie reveals it was much easier and more natural than she expected. “Working with Andi was incredibly smooth. I thought there would be many directions, but instead, he respected my creative space. He gave me full freedom to write my own story, and he even told me he preferred composing melodies based on it.”
Although the song carries Andi Rianto’s signature musical elements, Ernie emphasizes that her artistic identity remains at the forefront. “Even with Andi’s touch, the delivery and the vibe are still very much Ernie Zakri.”
Ernie hopes the song serves as a place for listeners to feel seen and understood. “I hope everyone can feel this song. Every person has their own journey, their own highs and lows. Always believe that there is light at the end of the road. And remember to be kind, you never know what someone else is going through.”
As a producer, Andi highlights the most essential element of the song. “For me, the most important musical element is Ernie Zakri’s vocal. I love her tone, her technique, and most of all the emotion she conveys. That’s what I wanted to showcase.”
The biggest challenge for Andi was not technical, it was ensuring Ernie’s talent shined fully. “The main challenge was wanting everyone to know how extraordinary Ernie is, not only as a singer but also as a songwriter. That’s what I want people to feel through ‘Perjalanan.’”
Ernie also shares what comes next after this release. “Next, I’ll be holding a fan meeting. I want to do something different this time, letting my fans experience my music more closely, including my new works.”
Adding to the excitement, “Perjalanan” has also been chosen as the OST for TV3’s latest drama, Cinta Anak Lorong. Ernie’s soulful vocals paired with the dramatic arrangement are expected to enhance the storytelling of the series.
