Bingkai Karya-It’s been around two years since Clara Riva, a musician and songwriter, released her first single, “Sulit Lupakanmu.” Since then, she’s been busy writing songs for other Indonesian artists, like the hit song “Bunga Hati” by Salma Salsabil. Now, Clara is back with new music for herself, introducing her latest single, “Coba Waras.”
As reflected in the song’s title, this single tells the story of someone’s struggle to stay sane and aware after losing someone they love. “Even though loss is definitely a part of our lives, losing someone we love will leave a lasting mark on our hearts,” said Clara. “So, as long as we still have the opportunity to live, we must strive to stay conscious and sane. Even when we’re shattered or devastated,” added Clara, who took inspiration from her own past.
Through Wecord, Clara was finally able to express this story with the help of several big names. Including Kreate as the producer, Bagus Aditra Nugroho as the vocal engineer, Bowo Soulmate as the vocal director, Pefiri as the vocal editor, and Dimas Pradipta as the mixing and mastering engineer.
The Music Video
Clara has also put together a music video for “Coba Waras,” which will be available on her YouTube channel. The video tells the story of a man struggling with grief and heartbreak, who eventually transitions to a transgender woman as a way to cope with his pain. “The idea and concept of this music video were way beyond what I had imagined. But it’s a unique and extraordinary idea,” said Clara.
The music video was directed by Prialangga and features a talented cast. Including Andi Hernawan, Nunung Sapteng, Yezzy Dhea Ravica, Abdul Hafiz, and Christo Budhyono.
Clara hopes that many Indonesian music fans will connect with “Coba Waras,” though she acknowledges that everyone’s healing process is different. “Just enjoy the music, and don’t rush your own healing,” she advised. Clara is excited for the song to reach a wide audience and hopes that many people will sing along during her performances.
