Bingkai Karya – The year 2025 is shaping up to be a memorable one for Raissa Ramadhani. In February, the young soloist is set to release her debut album, RIBUAN RINDU After dropping several singles under the banner of Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia since 2022, Raissa is now embarking on a new chapter in her musical journey. Alongside five previously released tracks, the album will feature new songs, with “Berjuang Sekali Lagi” as the focus track.
According to Raissa, the process of creating this album wasn’t all that different from recording her earlier singles—listening to the songs, finding the emotions to convey, and so on. However, being her debut album, there was a unique emotional weight to the process. “Even though the overall process was similar to making singles, working on this album felt more mellow but exciting at the same time,” said the singer of “Berpisah Lebih Indah.” “It’s mellow because it feels like a summary of my journey, starting from my first single with Sony Music to finally getting my debut album ready. But it’s also exciting because I got to collaborate with amazing songwriters and vocal directors like Om Irvnat, Kak Barsena, Kak Kamga, and Mbak Ayu.”
With support from her A&R team, Raissa spent the past 8-10 months gathering songs for the album. The process came with its own set of challenges, as some of the new songs were more demanding than her previous ones, pushing her to improve her craft. Raissa teased one standout track from the album: “While I usually sing ballads, there’s one faster-paced song on this album called “Biasa Saja”. It has a happy vibe that will make listeners want to dance. Honestly, it’s a huge departure from my previous songs.”
The opportunity to release her first album is a dream come true for this graduate of the London School of Public Relations (LSPR). “A year ago, I wouldn’t have imagined having my own debut album,” Raissa admitted. “Even after two years with Sony Music, I sometimes still ask myself, ‘Is this real?’ But I’m so grateful to have reached this point. Of course, there’s pressure—can I deliver the songs well?—but I hope all the effort I put into each track will resonate with listeners. This album is not just a milestone for me, but also proof to myself that I can commit to the music industry. This debut album is incredibly special to me, especially because it’s with Sony Music.”
Among the 10 tracks on the album, “Berjuang Sekali Lagi” was chosen as the focus track. Raissa explained that the song reflects the experiences of many Gen Z individuals. “Even after being hurt and venting about it on social media, many of us end up going back to the same relationship,” she shared. “I think most people have been in an unhealthy relationship at some point. When you love someone, you want to make them happy, even if it means enduring pain. Sometimes it’s hard to let go because the love runs so deep, so you decide to fight for it again. This song isn’t meant to judge anyone in that situation; instead, it’s about explaining why we do it, because I’ve been there myself. It’s written from the perspective of someone who’s fighting to keep a relationship alive, even when it’s not ideal.”
As for the album as a whole, Raissa hopes listeners will find it a meaningful experience. “This debut album is meant to represent people’s love journeys—from happiness and heartbreak to moments of foolishness and ultimately letting go with grace. I hope listeners feel that my songs bring back memories for them. And of course, I hope the album is as well-received as my previous singles and brings joy to all my fans.”
Raissa Ramadhani’s debut album, RIBUAN RINDU will be available on digital music platforms starting February 21, 2025.
