Bingkai Karya – Multi Platinum singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin is back with his latest single, “Pick Me,” the third offering from his forthcoming third studio album, due out later this year via Elektra Entertainment.
With its catchy guitar melody and Benjamin’s signature introspective lyrics, “Pick Me” tells a relatable tale of longing and acceptance in the modern dating landscape, fearlessly diving into the world of online dating.
The official video for “Pick Me” was filmed in Los Angeles and reunites Benjamin with director Matt Trainor (who helmed Benjamin’s previous video, “I Sent My Therapist to Therapy”). Set in a charming diner, the visuals perfectly capture the song’s essence, highlighting the search for authentic connection in a world often dominated by digital facades.
“This song is about the way we present ourselves—and the lies we sometimes tell—on dating apps in order to appear more desirable to others,” Benjamin shares. “Ultimately, we often realize that the best version of ourselves is the real version, and sharing our true selves with others is what creates meaningful connections.”
Benjamin recently performed his previous single, “I Sent My Therapist to Therapy,” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Upon release, Rolling Stone exclusively premiered the track, praising its “wildly self-aware thread.” The song has amassed over 16 million streams to date.
Closing out last year, Benjamin graced the Jimmy Kimmel Live! stage with a debut performance of the album’s first single, “Different Kind of Beautiful.” The track was highlighted by UPROXX as “a love song in its purest form,” and hailed by Billboard as a “New Pop Songs to Watch.” It has since garnered over 24 million streams.
Benjamin continues to rise as a breakout artist. Since his debut in 2018, Benjamin has been praised by fans and critics alike for his honest storytelling. With the release of his sophomore album (Un)Commentary in 2022, he further connected with fans, captivating audiences across the U.S., Asia, Australia, and Europe, and making his debut at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Benjamin’s impressive career boasts 9+ billion global streams, 10+ million social media followers across all platforms, 123+ million playlist reach, and 1.6+ billion YouTube views on his channel—a testament to the connection he has built with listeners around the world.
