Bingkai Karya– Jakarta-based pop rock trio Perunggu will release their latest single, “Tapi,” independently on November 29, 2024, through Podium Records. After their 2022 debut album Memorandum, Maul Ibrahim (guitar, vocals), Adam Adenan (bass, vocals), and Ildo Hasman (drums, vocals) present their first single.
“Tapi” describes how a mother’s prayer has magical power in modern life. Maul’s self-written lyrics in this track describe the different life stages and decisions that have long puzzled humans.A mother’s prayers can turn any anxiety into a powerful belief.
Moving to a new city to live and work is difficult for anyone who grew up in their hometown. This track uses Bandung and Jakarta again as background cities to depict the lyrics’ story.
“The lyrics were written after a grateful conversation with my wife, reflecting on life’s crucial decisions,” stated Maul . According to him, moving to Jakarta for work was a difficult decision, but he gained confidence from his mother’s prayers.Apparently, “Tapi” will connect Perunggu to their second album. The 3-minute, 40-second song was recorded in Jakarta and Bali at Duapuluhtiga Studio.
Background Cities
Jakarta and Bali, inviting Enrico Octaviano (Lomba Sihir) and Petra Sihombing to produce the new record. Based on their friendship and expertise generating hits with local performers, the two producers collaborated.
While Memorandum has numbers, “Tapi” has a different musical approach. Start with the relaxed rhythms, no guitar distortion, synth noises, and voice modulation. Each employee is explored with various allusions, therefore this originality is purposeful. Maul, Adam, and Ildo tried to make their current song sound as Perunggu fans were used to.
Enrico and Petra guarded the musical direction while developing song structure and advancing Perunggu till recording, strengthening song structures and pushing Perunggu to try new approaches. Each musician and producer also ensures that each song can be performed live.
Humans are naturally curious. The three of us also listen to different music genres. In the same session, Maul said. “When we started making demos for the second album, automatically looking for different things was key. Be vibrant and dynamic, he said.
