Assia Keva Opens Her Heart with “Can We Be Friends Again?” — A Healing Letter to the Past, Produced by Pamungkas

Bingkai Karya – As we grow older, we learn that not everything we’ve done so far will always work, and this is a process that many people go through. Assia Keva releases a song drawn from her personal experience, about her relationship with her father. This track invites us to reflect on ourselves and open a new chapter, especially for those who have experienced fractured relationships due to miscommunication, or perhaps, uncontrolled ego.

The song, titled “Can We Be Friends Again?”, was released on July 2, 2025, and was both written and produced by Pamungkas, the acclaimed musician behind To The Bone, Kenangan Manis, and Monolog.

Written as an honest apology letter to her father, “Can We Be Friends Again?” explores the desire to mend a broken relationship, whether it’s romantic, platonic, or familial, that once fell apart due to emotional immaturity in the past.

“Sometimes we need more time to understand; we need a new version of ourselves to appreciate what we once took for granted,” Assia shares.

Through lyrics that feel like a reflective conversation, Assia Keva brings warmth that gently wraps around old wounds. This song becomes a sort of emotional hug for anyone who has lost someone because of regretful choices, yet quietly holds on to hope for a second chance.

“This song is not about going back to the past,” she adds, “it’s about learning to become a better version of ourselves, and maybe, opening the door to reconciliation.”

With “Can We Be Friends Again?”, Assia Keva once again shows her ability to capture complex emotions in a work that feels simple, honest, and deeply human.

The song is now available on all digital streaming platforms including Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music.
