Bingkai Karya – Barsena Bestandhi is back with a new song called “Ruang Baru.” He co-wrote the track with Hendro Djasmoro, a songwriter known for making soundtracks for Indonesian movies. “Ruang Baru” tells a hopeful story about saying goodbye. “Goodbyes will be replaced with reunions. Those who are left behind will meet in a new space.”
This song is also the original soundtrack for the film “My Annoying Brother,” which is based on a Korean movie and stars Vino G. Bastian, Angga Yunanda, Caitlin Halderman, and Kristo Immanuel.
Barsena and Hendro wanted to create a song about parting that doesn’t carry a sense of sadness in its tone or message. “This song was initially intended for someone else to sing, but it didn’t happen. In the end, I decided to perform it myself. I felt that ‘Ruang Baru’ was meant for me, both in terms of tone, melody, and its message,” Barsena shared.
In addition to Hendro Djasmoro, musicians Mikha Angelo and Fellow Amateurs also contributed to the production of “Ruang Baru.” “We picked Mikha Angelo and Fellow Amateurs even before the demo was finished because they captured the song’s simplicity. Once the demo was ready, we sent it to the Production House, and they loved it. They even added scenes that weren’t in the Korean version just for ‘Ruang Baru,'” Barsena explained.
“Ruang Baru” will be released on September 13, 2024, on all digital streaming platforms. The movie “My Annoying Brother” will be in Indonesian theaters starting September 24, 2024.
