Bingkai Karya-Pascal Meliala, a Jakarta-based musician, views audiovisual art as a powerful way to share his life stories. His passion for music began in junior high school, and for him, music serves as more than just a hobby—it’s a storytelling tool, similar to writing screenplays and directing films, which he has been pursuing since he was 22.
The song “17 Juni” is one of Pascal Meliala’s works. Originally written in 2014 and later updated by Brigita Meliala (Idgitaf) in 2019. A decade later, the song was re-recorded as a gift to celebrate their parents’ 30th wedding anniversary in 2024. The song also marks the first musical collaboration between the siblings, following Idgitaf’s career journey in the Indonesian music scene.
The song conveys the story of a couple’s love journey. Starting with a chance encounter and evolving through a relationship full of ups and downs, leading to a lifelong commitment. Featuring a sacred and serene quality and enhanced by string instruments, this love ballad was produced by Michael Rodovan. A producer who also worked on Idgitaf’s “Satu-satu.”
Indonesian Pop Ballad fans can now enjoy the release of “17 Juni,” which is available starting on July 17. Finally, Pascal Meliala, Idgitaf, and Cecil Morinta hope their song will bring a fresh color to the Indonesian music scene.
