Bread, Bars, and Bangers: 1300 Serves Up “BANGALANG”

Bingkai Karya – Korean-Australian alternative hip-hop group 1300 returns with their first release of the year, ‘BANGALANG’, a dance-driven single that serves as an ode to bread. The single marks 1300’s first official release since their 2024 mixtape, GEORGE, as well as their debut under JADED’s label.

‘BANGALANG’ showcases 1300’s exploration with pop sonics, coupled with pokari.sweat and Nerdie’s powerful bass, dance-driven production intended to invoke fun, spontaneity, and playfulness—true to the spirit to which it was made: during one of their weekly studio sessions, rapper DALI HART spontaneously busted out the hook, “Bangalang alang alang alang alang,” which he ended up punching in the booth.

In the single, DALI HART, along with rako and goyo, trade bars around bread (빵 ‘ppang’ in Korean), referencing everything from beloved Asian-style baked goods to croquettes. Speaking about it, 1300 said: “It’s a song literally about bread”, adding that “it’s not that deep; it comes from a sense of play and we just wanted to have fun again”.

They recently wrapped up promotional activities in LA in May to preview the single before its release. Earlier this year, they also made a televised appearance at ABC’s New Year’s Eve 2025 concert at the Sydney Opera House.
