BRIN Suggested 3 Proposals for Bolstering World Food System to G20

The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) stated that G20 Indonesia should be able to stimulate international cooperation to build a sustainable global food security system. The Head of Agricultural and Food Research Organization of BRIN, Puji Lestari, said that a sustainable food system is crucial to be built in order to actualize a world without hunger.

BRIN then proposed 3 suggestions to G20 Indonesia, the first one was restoring the world food system. The restoration is required to guarantee that the food production remained high, the stock chain was back to normal, and the food trading system worked well as being regulated by WTO.

Second of all, BRIN suggested creating a sustainable investment climate. The development of a sustainable investment climate had to be done in order to increase the participation of private sectors through a public private partnership.

To make a sustainable food system to happen, BRIN promised to keep the commitment in increasing research capacity, invention, and innovation in agriculture and food so that the escalation of productivity, quality, and competitiveness of the food sectors in the global market could happen.
