Organization of Islamic Cooperation Cultural Activity (OIC-CA) international event announcing that it will be held at East Kalimantan, Indonesia which is also becoming the representative of Asia.
This event will be held on July 7 until 14 2023 in 4 places, Balikpapan, Samarinda, Penajam Paser Utara, and Kutai Kartanegara. Samarinda City will be one of the venues for delegates from 57 countries, at Odah Lamin Etam, Jalan Gajah Mada, Samarinda.
Yasmi Adriansyah Yunus, Professional Officer of the Department of Dialogue and Outreach Organization of Islamic Cooperation, said that the reason for choosing Indonesia as the host is that because Indonesia is known as a country with great tolerance in opening religious dialogue and caring, and supporting change in other Islamic countries.

He also added that East Kalimantan was chosen as the host because of its natural resources and cultural resources that have very high value, also the people who are known to be very friendly. The youth delegates from 57 countries who also attended were also very impressed since arriving at Sepinggan Balikpapan Airport, and all the way from Balikpapan to Samarinda.
Yasmi also continued that this was not just a meeting, but that there would be cooperation between the central government and East Kalimantan. Later, there will also be cooperation in the economic sector, youth entrepreneurship, dialogue between religions and cultures, hot issues such as Islamophobia, as well as collaborations from various fields.
Then, he said that these activities were not only collaborations in the government aspect, but also with universities in East Kalimantan. University of Balikpapan, Muhammadiyah University of East Kalimantan, Mulawarman University, and the Kalimantan Institute of Technology are the several universities that active for the event.
Through this, Yasmi hopes that Indonesia can become an example to other Islamic countries also for the world to support peace and diversity tolerance.
