Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Arianto won the 2023 Malaysia Open on Sunday, January 15, 2023. The Indonesian Men’s Double defeated China’s Liang Wei Kang / Wang Chang in a three-game match at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, winning 21-18, 18-21, and 21-13.
Fajar / Rian’s victory was their first taste of the BWF (Badminton World Federation) World Tour Super 1000 title. The world’s top men’s doubles team was also pleased and satisfied with their first Malaysia Open title earlier this year.
Fajar admitted that the key to victory against China was playing casually in the third game, especially after the 60-second interval. Furthermore, he believes that enthusiasm and motivation cannot be separated from the role of the fans who have always supported their career.
