Anthony Sinisuka Ginting successfully defended his title as Singapore Open 2023 champion, after defeating Denmark’s Anders Antonsen at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. With this victory, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting became the first Indonesian badminton player to win the Singapore Open title twice in a row.
In the final, Ginting was left behind at the start of the first game. However, he then won five straight points to turn ahead 7-4. The match was tight after the interval. Antonsen slowly caught up to equalize the score 12-12 and had turned ahead 15-14. But, Ginting was able to win 4 consecutive points to regain the lead. Ginting finally secured the first game after Antonsen’s return was too long back. After that, Ginting won the second game without much trouble and managed to win the Singapore Open 2023.
