FIFA will make the final decision on the venue that will host the 2023 U-17 World Cup in Indonesia On August 26. PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir made this declaration during a press conference at the Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) on August 2, 2023.
PSSI had previously recommended eight stadiums as U-17 World Cup locations. Six of the eight stadiums have been evaluated for use in the scrapped U-20 World Cup. FIFA will most likely select only four of the eight stadiums recommended by PSSI.
PSSI had concerns, according to Erick, in submitting eight stadium venues to FIFA. Some of them are connected to the money for organizing the U-17 World Cup, as well as the three-month preparation time.

FIFA is reported to have evaluated the stadiums and fields suggested as locations for the U-17 World Cup in 2023. The FIFA crew filed a number of remarks based on the findings of these inspections, which usually highlighted the quality of the turf as needing care and repair.
PSSI will immediately convene a meeting with the ministries and local governments in charge of the hosting stadium to address the many changes that are required.
