Bingkai Karya – After a whirlwind year of chart-topping singles, sold-out shows, and spontaneous pop-up performances, Kingfishr officially arrive with the release of their debut album Halcyon. The highly anticipated record cements their status as one of the most exciting Irish acts in recent years, blending folk traditions with modern indie-pop power.
2025 has already been a breakthrough year for the trio. Their single Killeagh became the biggest domestic hit in years, spending five weeks at #1 and holding strong in the Top 10 for 21 weeks. Now, with Halcyon, Kingfishr showcase the emotional depth and communal energy that have fueled their rise, rousing hooks, heartfelt lyrics, and melodies that inspire massive singalongs while staying rooted in Ireland’s storytelling heritage.
The album includes some of their biggest tracks: Killeagh, Eyes Don’t Lie, Caroline, and Shot In The Dark, as well as new material led by focus track 21. The song embodies the essence of Kingfishr: bittersweet nostalgia, jangly indie-folk rhythms, and the warmth of layered vocal harmonies wrapped around Eddie Keogh’s gritty baritone.
“Halcyon is the culmination of three years of work, though it rarely felt like work. The band was born on a dairy farm in Tipperary, and the songs grew in a small kitchen where generations turned stories into music. The name is a nod to the landscapes that shaped us, even if the songs aren’t always about peace or happiness. We’re incredibly proud of this record. On and up!” Kingfishr reflected
Halcyon spans moods and styles, from the solemn Ways To Change to the uplifting Blue Skies and the dramatic Someday, closing with Schooldays, an optimistic reminder that “roses rise in the darkest of places.”
The release comes as Kingfishr’s live presence explodes. Their tour calendar spans the UK, Europe, and North America, including two sold-out headline nights at Dublin’s 3Arena and four massive Irish shows in 2026 performing to more than 50,000 fans. Along the way, they’ve surprised listeners with intimate pub sets, street shows, and even crashing a wedding as the surprise band for a first dance.
With Halcyon, Kingfishr aren’t just releasing an album, they’re delivering the soundtrack of a new era for Irish folk-pop.
The album is out now on all major platforms, with exclusive signed editions available via the official Kingfishr store.
