Get to Know About Blue Beetle, DC New Superhero

Blue Beetle is the new movie from DC Extended Universe (DCEU). This movie is about Jaime Reyes from DC Comics. This movie was made by DC Studios and The Safran Company, and it makes Blue Beetle as the first character of the DC Universe under James Gunn and Peter Safran.

In this film, Blue Beetle is introduced as the first Latino superhero in DCEU history. However, the Blue Beetle appeared long before this blue beetle costume was worn by Jaime. This character first appeared in Mystery Men Comics #1 by Charles Nicholas Wojtkowski in 1939, published by Fox Comics.

The first version of the character is Dan Garrett, a police officer wearing a bulletproof costume and taking the Vitamin 2X booster. However, after Fox Comics went bankrupt, the Blue Beetle rights passed to Charlton Comics. In this version, Charlton introduces a different character from Dan Garrett. He becomes Dan Garrett, an archaeologist who finds the mystical Scarab giving him superhuman abilities.

Charlton made another change over the Blue Beetle in 1966, by changing the main character from Dan Garrett to Ted Kord. Ted was a student of Garrett and a brilliant inventor who assumed the title after Garrett’s death. He relies on his advanced tools instead of using the Scarab.

Charlton Comics went bankrupt in 1983, resulting in the rights to Blue Beetle and other characters being acquired by DC. These characters were introduced into the DC Universe after the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths in 1985.

The Jaime Reyes version of the Blue Beetle appeared in 2006. He was introduced in Infinite Crisis #6 in 2006 after the death of Ted Kord.

Jaime becomes Blue Beetle when he accidentally brings a Scarab home. By using the Scarab, Jaime can wear costumes that increase his strength and durability. This costume also provides various weapons at Jaime’s disposal such as swords, shields, and energy cannons. Even this costume can also produce energy wings that allow Jaime to fly.

Blue Beetle is now showing in theaters and is the first film from the DCEU to use Latin culture as a backdrop. The film was released on August 16 in cinemas.
