Bingkai Karya – Global pop sensation KUN has released his second full-length, self-titled album and debut project via 88rising. On this album, the versatile, singer, producer, fashion icon, and renowned global pop phenomenon delivers a return to the unexpected sounds that shaped him through 11 tracks, all of which he co-wrote and co-produced. Spanning decades and genres, including rock, soul, jazz, pop, and R&B, KUN distills the timeless textures of American musical roots with contemporary clarity that highlights his wide vocal range. The album features collaborations with Free Nationals, frequent Grammy-nominated collaborators of Anderson .Paak.
To celebrate the release of the album, KUN shared a cinematic and mysterious music video for the album’s lead track, “Colder”. The emotionally charged, guitar-driven song portraits KUN as haunted by regret while embracing a darker alt-rock sound. Its bolt, cinematic production and candid lyrics turn isolation into something deeply internal. The playful yet unsettling video was filmed in Iceland, with KUN playing himself as the spaceship he travels in lands on a planet where snowmen are his only companions. The video was directed by Folkert Verdoorn and Simon Becks (FKA Twigs, A$AP Rocky), with art direction by Eggert Ketilsson (Dunkirk, Interstellar).
KUN shared the following about the album:
“While making this album, I lived inside the songs. I followed them everywhere, from the writing to the visuals. I followed “Colder” to the glaciers of Iceland, where the cold cut to my bones but somehow felt peaceful and healing. “Jasmine” took me to a crowded city, where everything felt loud and suffocating, yet strangely freeing. When I first performed “What a Day” before its release, I felt submerged in the energy and imperfections that come with playing live. So when I entered the studio to record it, I used old recording methods to capture that same feeling.
Those moments of imperfection are what make us human.
I used to ask, “What do they want to hear?” This time, I finally asked, “What do I want to sing?”
I’m drawn to sounds that feel the most human and warm, like vintage recordings, old films, classic melodies that feel as if they’ve lived longer than we have. I wanted to make music that carries that feeling forward. I want to create music that can resonate across generations and cultures, and reach all of us.”
Today, KUN also announced a spring tour across North America/UK/Europe, with stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago, New York City, Washington, DC, London, and Paris. The tour follows KUN’s major U.S. appearances in 2025, including a sold-out headline show at the Fonda Theatre and performances at the Head In The Clouds Festival in NYC and LA.
In Asia, KUN continues to make waves, further cementing his influence across the region. He was recently awarded All-Round Artists of the Year at JOOX Top Music Night Bangkok and headlined the inaugural Bubbling & Boiling Festival in Singapore. Most recently, he appeared as a special guest performer on Indonesian Idol, which aired on national television and reached millions of viewers across the country.
