The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) noted that his team already has concepts regarding subsidized Fuel Oil (BBM) on target, through arrangements for purchasing special types of fuel oil (Jenis BBM Khusus) and certain types of fuel oil (Jenis BBM Tertentu) according to the criteria.
The Director General of Oil and Gas (Dirjen Migas) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tutuka Ariadji, said that the government’s plan was not to limit the content of subsidized Pertalite and Solar, but it was to regulate subsidies on target.
Currently, the government continues to work on regulations regarding the regulation of targeted fuel through the revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 191 of 2014 concerning the Provision, Distribution and Retail Selling Price of fuel oil.
The government has detailed the types of vehicles that can purchase Pertalite and subsidized solar. The criteria were narrowed down from the planned 1,500 cubic centimeter (cc) engine down to 1,400 cc for cars and below 250 cc for motorcycles. However, there is no certain information when this criteria is applied.
