Bingkai Karya – Blues musician Anov Blues One has teamed up with rock vocalist Ollan to form a duo and release a new single titled “Tukibul”. The song raises concerns ahead of the 2024 Indonesian General Election.
In a written statement, Anov said that the title “Tukibul” is an acronym for “Tukang Kibul” which means “liar” in Indonesian, which should be watched out for in the run-up to the 2024 General Election.
In addition to describing the psychological perspective of anger, frustration, and anxiety about the many people who use lies as a commodity to sell in the context of politics, the song can also be interpreted more generally.
“This song is also a warning to all of us to be more selective and to filter with whom we associate, cooperate, and commit to, in matters of work, business, or partnership,” said Anov Blues One.
“From officials, religious leaders to ordinary people, many sell words, fairy tales, dogma, aka lies in the end, they are not sure what they are talking about, because that is their pattern, their intention and maybe their profession,” he said.
The decision of the nominee for the AMI Awards for the Best Blues Production Work category in 2022 and 2023 to invite Ollan as a collaborator on the vocals of this song was also not without reason.
Anov said that the owner of the full name Ahmad Sabar Nainggolan is a singer with a distinctive voice and has been his colleague for a long time. In fact, this duo project has produced two previous singles, namely “Boskin (Bosan Miskin)”, and “Botol (Bodoh dan Tolol)”.
Through this song, Anov and Ollan hope that their listeners will no longer be easily fooled by the presence of liars who often make promises, and understand the patterns that are usually used by liars before the 2024 General Election.
“Never be immediately amazed and fascinated, let alone believe in people like them. Because in the end, we are the ones who will fall into the pit of expectation because we are consumed by promises and patterns, but nothing is true,” said Ollan.
The single “Tukibul” by Anov Blues One and Ollan is available to listen to on various digital music streaming platforms starting from December 15, 2023.
