Bingkai Karya-2024 marks a special milestone for J-pop star MAKI GOTO, as she celebrates 25 years since her CD debut. To mark this impressive anniversary, she’s rolling out several exciting projects. After the digital release of her highly anticipated new single “CLAP CLAP,” she’s now dropped a brand-new mini-album titled “prAyer” on September 4.
“prAyer” is GOTO’s first full-length album of original music since 2011 and her first major release since a digital covers album two years ago. This mini-album features seven tracks and marks a significant return for MAKI GOTO. Promising to excite both long-time fans and new listeners.
The album’s title, “prAyer,” reflects GOTO’s deep and personal lyrics, as she beautifully sings about her past and future experiences. With a fresh sound that blends various genres, “prAyer” showcases her growth beyond the catchy tunes of her idol days, as highlighted by the single “CLAP CLAP.”
MAKI GOTO, born on September 23, 1985, in Tokyo, has had a diverse career as a singer, YouTuber, and model. She first gained fame as a member of the iconic J-pop group Morning Musume. GOTO joined in 1999 and contributed to their hit single “LOVE Machine,” which sold over a million copies. She went solo in 2001 with the single “Ai no Bakayarou,” and after leaving Hello! Project in 2007, she joined a new agency and released ‘SWEET BLACK feat. MAKI GOTO’ in 2009.
On YouTube, GOTO runs popular channels like Gomaki no Guild for video game content and Gomaki to Ouki☆ for lifestyle and beauty tips. Both have garnered a large following. To celebrate her 25th anniversary, she will start a special solo live tour in September 2024.
