Bingkai Karya– Jamie xx released “Waited All Night”, a new single from his anticipated sophomore album. Young Recordings will release In Waves . Jamie, Oliver Sim, and Romy Madley Croft reunite on “Waited All Night,” a 2-step pop perfection, for the first time since The xx’s 2017 album I See You. Jamie performed the song live at the Glastonbury Festival earlier this year, following an emotional reunion on stage.”It’s been fantastic working with this gang and living a new life. I wouldn’t be here without them.”
Romy and Oliver add, “We’ve loved collaborating on our solo projects recently, but it’s been a while since we got together on a single track. We’re thrilled to reunite here. Proud to contribute to this long-awaited excellent CD. Jamie, we love you most!”
Jamie’s Journey
Jamie released “Baddy On The Floor” in April, his thrilling summer collaboration with Honey Dijon, before announcing the album in June with “Treat Each Other Right,” a muscular-meets-futuristic soul-burning breakbeat track with a buzzworthy video by Rosie Marks.
His first huge song in six years, “Life,” a nu-disco hymn with one of the most legendary vocalists, was released in June with Robyn. “Waited All Night” and recent collaborations with The Avalanches (“All You Children”) and Kelsey Lu, Panda Bear, and John Glacier (“Dafodil”) preview the album’s euphoria.
Nine years after his GRAMMY, BRIT, Ivor Novello, and Mercury Music Prize-nominated debut album, In Color, Jamie recreates the dramatic peaks and exciting instability of an almost legendary night on In Waves’ 12 tracks. This album, crafted over four years starting with his beloved Essential Mix 2020, will surpass its global acclaimed predecessor. It features self-reflection, the global pandemic, the resurgence of spotlights, and a renewed love of surfing as an escape
