
“Jendela Seribu Sungai” hits the big screen this July. This movie tells the story of the culture and struggles of native children of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan and was produced by Radepa Studio together with the Banjarmasin City Government.
Some of the cast in this movie include: Agla Artalidia as Mrs. Sheila, Olla Ramlan as Arian’s mother, and Ajil Ditto as an adult Arian. The story of “Jendela Seribu Sungai” is based on a novel with the same title by Miranda Seftiana and Avesina Soebli.
Synopsis
The story of three children named Arian, Kejora and Bunga who are still in elementary school with different dreams. Arian dreams of becoming a curiding artist, Kejora who is very ambitious of wanting to become a doctor and Bunga has big dreams of becoming a dancer, but their wish is broken by a different will from their parents.
Teacher Sheila is well aware of the problems experienced by her three students so she is moved to help her. Will Mrs. Sheila be able to convince each parent about the dreams of her students?

Presenting the Beauty of Banjarmasin Through Friendship
The soundtrack for this movie is entitled ‘Selalu Ada Jalan’, sung by Ian Kasela, composed and arranged by Moldy, a member of the band Radja. This movie presents the natural beauty of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan and the simplicity of the children there.
Several filming locations for this movie include the Siring viewing tower which is one of the icons of the city of Banjarmasin, the Martapura River, a floating market on klotok boats which are clearly a Banjarmasin specialty as well as the typical Banjarmasin proboscis monkey doll held by one of the players, Sheryl Drisanna.
“Jendela Seribu Sungai” starts July 20, 2023 in theaters.
