Bingkai Karya – Houston-born artist keshi released his highly anticipated new album, “Requiem,” on September 13th through Island Records. This marks his first full-length album since 2022.
Opening up the world of Requiem, the first song off the upcoming album “Say,” features a chantable refrain and uplifted by his powerhouse delivery. This single is co-produced by keshi, Elie Rizk, Malay, and Imad Royal.
Keshi explained that while making music, he often overlooked songs meant just for dancing. “Say” is his response to that craving for upbeat tracks, blending a moody vibe with influences from city-pop.
“In all my attempts to make meaningful music, I overlooked songs that were built to just get people to move,” keshi shared on the making of “Say.” “I remember touring on the road and really craving to play songs that just felt good to groove to. ‘Say’ is my answer to that. It’s got a moody sort of cadence with an admiration for city-pop baked into it.”
The album includes 13 tracks that mix Y2K pop with personal lyrics. Keshi showcases his strongest vocal performances yet and plays multiple instruments, translating life’s ups and downs into vibrant anthems. He recorded “Requiem” between Houston and Los Angeles, working with notable producers and co-writers to create a unique sound that balances big pop energy with alternative elements.
His debut album, “GABRIEL,” released in 2022, gained billions of streams and established him as a major artist, with sold-out shows at iconic venues like Radio City Music Hall. Critics praised his emotional melodies and lyrics, highlighting his impact in the music scene.
